The 3rd MusicON International Composition Competition
The 3rd MusicON International Composition Competition received submissions from 59 composers representing 12 countries. After evaluation by the judges Wang Lu and Felipe Lara, six works were selected for the final round:
Category: Age 19 and Over
• Sami Seif, Syriac Fugato 2
• Zihan Wu, Memoir of the Bamboo Sea
• Asher Lurie, Torque
• Xinyuan Deng, Echoes of Silver Rain
Category: Age 18 and Under
• Jingya Huang, Tangle
• Ziyuan Wang, Under the Deep, Lonely Sea
These six works will be performed on October 25 and 26 at the MusicON Festival in New York, where the final rankings will be announced at the conclusion of the concerts.
