MusicON Fesival 5th Anniversary Opening Concert with Taige Wang
This marks Taige’s third year with MusicON, where he has participated in the festival in the dual roles of pianist and composer.
Born in 2010, Taige is an award-winning young pianist, a Lang Lang International Music Foundation Young Scholar, and was named a Steinway Young Artist at just 13 years old. He currently studies piano at The Juilliard School with Veda Kaplinsky.
Taige also studies composition with Bruce Adolphe and has been named a finalist in the ASCAP Foundation Morton Gould Young Composer Awards.
Taige is the youngest composer ever to be specially invited by MusicON. His works commissioned by the festival—NAN Trio (2024) and Variations on a Theme from Bizet’s Carmen (2025)—have been warmly received, highlighting his distinctive voice and creativity as a young composer.
MusicON Festival is dedicated to supporting young composers and creating meaningful opportunities for their music to be heard and performed. As MusicON celebrates its fifth year, we are proud to welcome Taige as the festival’s first Artist-in-Residence. In this role, he will compose a new chamber work for MusicON each year and present an annual opening concert, showcasing his talents as both a performer and composer.
On October 3 at 12:30 PM, Taige will open the 2026 MusicON Festival at The Blanc in New York, featuring masterworks by Scarlatti, Granados, and Liszt, alongside works by MusicON Festival Artistic Director Yiming Wu and premieres by Taige Wang.We warmly invite you to reserve your seat and join us for this exciting opening concert!
